Here is an update on Kole's health. Unfortunately, oral antiobiotics don't really seem to help Kole with his ear infections. A week after we were told he had a double ear infection we went back to the doctor for a follow-up appt. The doctor said they were not getting better and decided to go ahead and give him a shot of antibiotics. The shot was a series given over three days, Kole absolutely hated it. As soon as we would lay him on the table he knew what was coming and would just scream. I felt so bad for him. The doctor also referred us to an ENT. We met with this doctor on Monday and we are now going ahead with putting the tubes in his ears. This will be done on Wednesday, February 11th. The procedure is a very easy and quick one, lasting only about five minutes. However, because children his age don't sit still very well he will have to be put under. It seems a scary thought but the doctor and nurses assure us it is quite simple. Everyone we know who has had tubes in their kids ears has been extremely pleased with the results so we are definitely looking forward to it.
