Our Little Sleeper

For some reason Kole has been waking up pretty early in the morning lately. He comes in by us and we put him in the middle and he goes back to sleep for about an hour in our bed. This was just too cute not to post. I hope we are not starting a bad habit though.

Menominee Park

Tuesday morning I took Kole over to Menominee Park for some playtime. Kent was able to sneak away from work and join us for lunch. Kole was so excited to see daddy in the middle of the day!
Then we headed over and took a train ride. We were glad Kole was willing to go as our last train experience did not go so well, if you remember my post from our scary roller coaster train ride in the Dells. Hopefully we broke his fear of trains now.

Omro Pool

We decided to take advantage of the great weather last weekend, and our last weekend with Kole, so we headed to the Omro pool. It is so nice and kid friendly.
Walking around with dad.
Anytime he sees a wheel he wants to drive. Oh boy, 16 is going to come way too fast I think!

He absolutely loved going down the slide with daddy. I think he wore Kent out, they went at least 10 times.

I couldn't go down the slide but it was so hot I was willing to get in the water.

Okay, one shot of me in all my pregnancy glory. Can't believe it's time to have our little girl. This nine months went pretty fast.

Just chilling.

Kole had such a fun time with daddy that day. He will have to learn to adjust to sharing us with his little sister though, hope the transition goes well.

High-fiving over something but I can't remember what. Maybe he just jumped in?

Kole loved to climb up the ladder all by himself, such a big boy!

We sure are enjoying our last days as parents of one. Kole has been so cute and cuddly lately. Sometimes a bit sassy but hey he's 2 1/2.

Lifest 2010

Every year Kent's parents and sister Jacci come stay with us during Lifest, a huge Christian music festival held at the fairgrounds here in town. It also happened to be Kole's half birthday and they brought him some nice gifts. Posing with grandma and grandpa after getting his gifts, he was all smiles. He just loved the Toy Story stuff they gave him.
We headed out to Lifest one night with Kole to see one of our favorite Christian artists, Mark Schultz.

Getting a better view from atop daddy's shoulders. He was so cute dancing and clapping to the music.
A quick break from dancing to get a pic with Aunt Jac and grandma Trudi.

Right before Kole was born we decided to sponsor a little boy through Compassion International. His name is Milton and he is from Bolivia. This year while at Lifest we chose to sponsor another child, a little girl, Aster, she is from Ethiopia.

July 4th

This year we headed to Omro for the 4th of July. We checked out the craft fair, where we bought Kole a bubble wand (still need to try that out!). Then we headed to the playground. Kole thought it would be fun to give dad a ride on the swings.
A quick cuddle for mom who found it best to stay in the shade, it was a hot one!

Kole has the best daddy ever, he is always willing to play with him at the park and never complains how long it gets or if they do the same thing over and over again.

We met my cousin Jill there and her two boys Owen and Asher.

After playing it was time for the parade, Kole proudly waving his flag.

After the parade we headed home for naps and then had our own firework display in the driveway. Kole and I enjoying our front row seats as daddy lit the fireworks off.

Aunt Jourdan even made it back to our house in time to watch a few with us.

Next year on this holiday we'll have two kiddos to share the day with!

Grandma Caryl's Birthday

Grandma Caryl turned 51 this year on June 28th. She came up and spent the day with us and then we took her out to Friar Tuck's for dinner. Kole helped her blow out the candle on her birthday brownie.

Summer music

Kole is absolutely in love with music class. This summer he moved up to the 3 year old class and fit in just perfectly. He is growing up so fast. I thought I would share some pics from our summer session. Ms. Roberta helping him play the auto harp.
Playing with the parachute.
Just being cute!

He can't wait to start the fall session. For now he has his own instruments at home and loves to march in his own parades.

Wisconsin Dells

At the end of every June we head to the Dells for a weekend with the Stauffacher side of the family. Kole and Aunt Jac right before going on the Ducks.
Mom and Kole on the Ducks.
Grandpa Bob and daddy took advantage of the nice golf course Christmas Mountain has. When they were done, Kole got a ride on their golf cart.

Grandma Trudi bought all the kids some crazy glasses. We tried to catch a pic of all of them before heading over to the Tommy Bartlett show.

We were able to get one last swim in before having to check out.

Kole likes going swimming but is still a little apprehensive sometimes. He was up for the slide as long as someone was at the bottom to catch him. Thanks dad!

You can't go to the Dells and not mini-golf. It was a very warm day though, so it was a quick round.

Taking a break with Aunt Jac. . .

. . . and grandma.

Another break with dad, I'm telling you it was sweltering out, breaks were very necessary!

Kole is very much into golf, it might be time to get him a set of clubs and let dad take him to the range! Never hurts to start them early.

Aah, a cool tunnel with some shade.

We always have a great time going to the Dells, always so much to do, but so little time. Thanks grandma and grandpa!

Update

I am sure many people stopped looking at this blog altogether since I have done such a poor job keeping up, but if you are loyal to us and have checked in now and then you can see I am finally catching up. When I found out I was pregnant back in November I really did not feel so hot for a few months and slept any chance I got so unfortunately the blog was neglected. Now that our little girl is going to arrive soon I wanted to get caught up before we start a family blog. Please enjoy the pictures from the last seven months or so and stay tuned for baby girl news!

Father's Day

Daddy and Kole reading some books on Father's Day morning.
After nap we headed to aunt Karen's for a cookout. Kole discovered her sweet little car!

Daddy and grandpa Jake in their matching blue Brewer shirts, what studs!

Kole and papa.

I was able to take this pic of Kole at home one day and we surprised daddy with a baseball that had this pic on it for his desk at work.

Walleye Weekend 2010

Every June FDL has a big festival known as Walleye Weekend, we have done the three mile family walk every year with Kole. Here he is before the start of the race.
Even at 7 1/2 months pregnant I walked as well. (Last year Kent and I ran the two mile race they have).
Papa and grandma walked with Kole the whole way, they did awesome!

The big finish!

In the familyland play area Kole got to meet two of his new favorite characters, Dora and Boots.

He also got his face painted for the first time. Such a champ, he sat great.

The finished product, an airplane.

Papa wanted to get Kole a balloon animal so between all of us we waited in line for over an hour for this thing. A monkey hanging on a palm tree. (The tree popped as soon as we walked away but Kent got the guy to make us a new one quick without having to wait in line again, thank goodness!).
