Cousins

My cousin Danielle and her two daughters, Mataya and Valentina, were home visiting for the holiday from Las Vegas. With so many relatives at Thanksgiving we did some research and found out how the whole cousin thing works. Danielle and I are first cousins. Danielle and Kole are first cousins once removed. Meaning I am first cousins once removed with her two daughters. Kole, Mataya and Valentina then are second cousins. The girls just had a blast playing with Kole, especially when it came to his ball popper. They just loved it. They were such great helpers. I wish they lived a little closer and we could get together more.

Valentina was celebrating her fourth birthday on Thanksgiving day so we opened some presents, sang happy birthday and ate some cupcakes. Mataya will turn eight on January 3rd, just a few days before Kole's first birthday.
